How can Jesus Christ be the only way to God, the creator?

According to the scriptures, Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Here are the reasons why:

  1. It is only Jesus Christ who knows God (Matthew 11:27).
  2. Only Jesus Christ (the Word) was with God in the beginning (John 1:1–2).
  3. He is the only begotten Son of God (John 1:4).
  4. Only Jesus Christ gives life, just as God raises the dead and gives them life (John 5:21, ESV).
  5. He has received authority from God to execute judgment (John 5:25–27, NKJV).
  6. He is the bread of God, who came down from heaven to give life to the world (John 6:33, CSB).
  7. He was sent by God (John 6:57, NKJV).
  8. He is the door that leads to salvation (John 10:7-9, NKJV).
  9. He is the only way (John 14:6, NKJV).
  10. He is the prince of life (Acts 3:15).
  11. Salvation is only through the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:10–12, NKJV).
  12. Through Him, we have access to God (Ephesians 2:18).
  13. He intercedes for the brethren (Hebrews 7:25, NKJV).
  14. It is only by His blood that we can gain access to the holiest (Hebrews 10:19–22, NKJV).
  15. He suffered for our sins (1 Peter 3:18, NKJV).
  16. Only Jesus Christ can give eternal life that he received from God (1 John 5:11–12, NKJV).
  17. Only Jesus Christ can give the understanding to enable a person to know God (1 John 5:20, NKJV).

Let us examine these points in detail.

1. It is only Jesus Christ who knows God.

This is according to Matthew 11:27 (NKJV), which says:

“All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

2. Only Jesus Christ (the Word) was with God in the beginning.

This is according to John 1:1-2 (NKJV), which says:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

3. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God.

This is according to John 1:14 (NIV), which says:

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

4. Only Jesus Christ can give life, just as God raises the dead and gives them life.

This is according to John 5:21 (ESV), which says:

“For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will.”

5. Only Jesus Christ has received authority from God to execute judgment.

This is according to John 5:25–27 (NKJV), which says:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in himself and has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of Man.”

6. Jesus Christ is the bread of God who came from heaven to give life to the world.

This is according to John 6:33 (CSB), which says:

“For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

7. Jesus Christ was sent by God.

This is according to John 6:57 (NKJV), which says:

“As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me.”

8. Jesus Christ is the only door leading to salvation.

This is according to John 10:7-9 (NKJV), which says:

“Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.’”

9. Jesus Christ is the only way, the truth, and the life.

This is according to John 14:6 (NKJV), which says:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

10. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Life.

This is according to Acts 3:15 (NKJV), which says:

“And killed the Prince of Life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.”

11. Salvation is only possible in the name of Jesus Christ.

This is according to Acts 4:10–12 (NKJV), which says:

“Let it be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified and whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you whole. This is the’stone ‘that was rejected by you builders and has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

12. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to God.

This is according to Ephesians 2:18 (NKJV), which says:

“For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”

13. Only Jesus Christ can intercede for men.

This is according to Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV), which says:

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”

14. It is only through the blood of Jesus Christ that we can gain access to the holiest

This is according to Hebrews 10:19–22 (NKJV), which says:

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”

15. Jesus Christ suffered for our sins.

This is according to 1 Peter 3:18 (NKJV), which says:

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.”

16. Only Jesus Christ can give eternal life that he received from God.

This is according to 1 John 5:11–12 (NKJV), which says:

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

17. Only Jesus Christ can give the understanding to enable a person to know God.

This is according to 1 John 5:20 (NKJV), which says:

“And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in his son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”

I hope this is helpful. Thank you.

Dear friend,

Life without Jesus Christ is difficult, if not impossible. That is why it is important to receive Him as your personal savior so that He can help you navigate through life’s challenges successfully.

If right now you are willing to receive Jesus Christ as your savior, that is, to be born again, pray sincerely as follows:

“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and hereby ask for your forgiveness.

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that you are the only begotten Son of the living God.

I believe that you were sent by your Father to the earth to save sinners like me.

I now accept you as my personal Lord and Savior.

Come into my heart and baptize me with the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for saving me.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen!”
