is Jesus Christ actually coming soon

Is Jesus Christ actually coming soon? The answer is yes! Here are the scriptures to support our answer:

Revelation 3:11 (NLV)

“I am coming very soon. Hold on to what you have so no one can take your crown.”

Revelation 16:15 (NIRV)

“Look! I am coming like a thief! Blessed is anyone who stays awake and keeps their clothes on. Then they will be ready. They will not be caught naked, and so be put to shame.”

Revelation 22:7 (CJB)

“Look! I am coming very soon. Blessed is the person who obeys the words of the prophecy written in this book!”

Revelation 22:12 (NIV)

“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give it to each person according to what they have done.”

Revelation 22:20 (CSB)

“He who testifies about these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming soon.’ Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!”

Events indicating that Jesus Christ is coming soon

In Matthew 24:3-29, Jesus Christ himself outlined an elaborate account of events that would be witnessed just before his return. Here is a list of the said events:

  • The emergence of false messiahs.
  • The occurrence of wars and rumors of wars.
  • The occurrence of famines in diverse places.
  • the occurrence of pestilence in many places.
  • Occurrences of earthquakes
  • Persecution of believers all over the world.
  • Apostasy (falling away from the true gospel as taught by Christ Jesus)
  • Unprecedented increase in offenses, betrayals, and hatred even among brethren.
  • Unprecedented emergence of false prophets.
  • Increased lawlessness.
  • The love of many will grow cold.
  • Preaching the gospel to the entire world.

Let’s read Matthew 24:3-29 and see what it says.

Matthew 24:3-29 (CSB)

“While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately and said, ‘Tell us, when will these things happen? And what is the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’

Jesus replied to them, ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many. You are going to hear about wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. A nation will rise up against a nation, and a kingdom against a kingdom. There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these events are the beginning of labor pains.’

Then they will hand you over to be persecuted, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. Then many will fall away, betray one another, and hate one another. Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

So when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains. A man on the housetop must not come down to get things out of his house, and a man in the field must not go back to get his coat. Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days! Pray that your escape may not be in the winter or on a Sabbath. For at that time there will be great distress, the kind that hasn’t taken place from the beginning of the world until now and never will again. Unless those days were cut short, no one would be saved. But those days will be cut short because of the elect.

If anyone tells you then, ‘see, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Ove here! Do not believe it. False messiahs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. Take note: I have told you in advance. So if they tell you, ‘See, he’s in the wilderness!’ Don’t go out; or, ‘See, he’s in the storerooms! Do not believe it. For as the lighting comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the carcass is, there the vultures will gather.’

Immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.’”

The rise of scoffers

Many years have passed since Christ Jesus ascended into heaven after completing his three-year ministry on earth. For this reason, many people have scoffed at the promise of his return, which he made to his disciples just before he was taken into heaven.

The scriptures had anticipated the arrival of such people whom it labels as scoffers in the book of 2 Peter 3:3. This scripture says:

“Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.’

For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God, the heavens were of old, and the earth stood out of water and in water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth, which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the Day of Judgment and the perdition of ungodly men.

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing: that with the Lord, one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

In short, in the eyes of men, it may seem that the second coming of Christ Jesus has been delayed or will never happen at all. However, the Bible clearly warns us not to be found in such a space because God is not a man that He should lie, and all that He says must come to pass. In other words, no word of God is released in vain (Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Isaiah 14:24).

So dear brethren, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but continue growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:17–18).

If you are reading this but are not yet born again, please surrender your life to Christ Jesus today. By so doing, you will be assured that when he appears on his second coming, you and all of the brethren shall be like him and shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2).

Do not ignore this opportunity because how will you escape if you neglect so great salvation, which at first began to be spoken by the Lord and was confirmed unto us by those that heard him (Hebrews 2:3–4)?

Therefore, today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart (Hebrews 3:15) but receive him willingly and gladly, and he will grant you the power to become a son of God (John 1:12-13).

Prayer to be born again

If right now you are willing to receive Jesus Christ as your savior, that is, to be born again, pray sincerely as follows:

“Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and hereby ask for your forgiveness.

I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that you are the only begotten Son of the living God.

I believe that you were sent by your Father to the earth to save sinners like me.

I now accept you as my personal Lord and Savior.

Come into my heart and baptize me with the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for saving me.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen!”

Congratulations friend! You are now a born-again Christian!

Welcome to the family of God!
